Product Description

Provides you with instant moisture readings from 6% to 90% in many materials including wood, dry wall, concrete and masonry. 60 Bright LED lights range from green to yellow to red and are an indication of the likelihood of decay. Other features include remote pin measurement, auto shut-off, low battery warning, calibration check device and a pin protection cap. The exterior jack plug socket enables the connection of the standard extension probe for easier reading in awkward areas. Spare pins, a pouch and a Timber Calibration Chart (150 species) are included. Operates on one 9 volt battery (included).

Excellent Product

This is an excellent tool for determining hidden moisture that cannot be felt.The visual signal, lights ranging from green to red, make photo-documentation a snap.Second one I've owned, and if I lose this one, too, I'll buy another right away.

Could use a better storage case

The moisture meter works well so far--I've tested both the built in probes, and the extension probe. It came with a storage pouch, two extra replacement probes, and a calibrating tool (although it isn't used to calibrate it, but to see if the meter is calibrated). Oh, and batteries.My only beef with it is that the storage pouch is fairly cheap, and it's just barely long enough to fully close with the meter inside. I'd prefer a zipper closing pouch rather than the velcro. I'm afraid with the velcro, the sides are open, and if I keep the calibrating tool or the spare probes could easily fall out. I'm keeping them someplace else, but wish I didn't have to.It'd be such a better choice, and 5 stars, if the carrying pouch was of better quality.

Well done. Be careful removing and inserting the battery.

Well done. Excellent display. A handsome tool to boot.Be careful when removing or inserting the battery. (I store less-often-used tools with the battery removed, in case the battery leaks.)* The two contacts are identical and the molded battery polarity indication is hard to see. The good news is that putting the battery in backwards doesn't blow out the meter (guess how I know.)* Takes quite a bit of force to get the battery out. I put a small screwdriver in with the meter,* If removing or inserting the battery, be sure the cap is in place. It would be easy to stab yourself!Those are minor quibbles. This is a very fine tool.
