Product Description

The Gilmour flexogen garden hose features a specially compounded cover that is soft and extremely flexible at subfreezing temperatures. It will also resist damage from weather, fungus, and atmospheric pollution and abrasion. The two-layer, polyester-cord-reinforced, high-burst-strength construction withstands 500 pounds psi. Over 500 PSI burst strength. Strong enough to hold the highest pressure on the hottest days. Lightweight, coils and handles easily in all weather. Flow guard Plus protective collar on 5/8 and 1/2 hoses resists kinks at faucet. Maximum kink resistance.

Damn good hose!

Now I can reach my garden from a far. The rubber is thick and very heavy. You get what you pay for. It's a manly hose! I promise not to run this one over with my mower. But it's so thick it probably would stop the mower dead in its tracks. But we're not going to try that because I love my big hose. That came out the wrong way but 250 feet of hose is a whole lot of rubber baby. Not much better lol. Well the hose is not inexpensive but worth every penny I spent on it. I may have to get another one at some point, just because I could use another one. Don't waste your time getting a cheap hose; they always let you down in the long run. This one stays flexible year round and doesn't kink up or loose water pressure like the cheap ones. If you want a real hose, select this one. I imagine the only thing better than this would have been the 1 inch thick version which they only made in 100 feet sections that I could find. I needed 250’ so buying 3 expensive 100 ft. 1 inch sections of Glimour hoses and joining them together didn't sound like a cost effective option so I sucked it up and I purchased this 5/8 250' Glimour hose and made the ends up myself. Boy was I happy I did, and now I have a solid leak free lifetime warranty hose which more than does the job for me. The order came on time as expected. I can tell you do not open this up inside the house because the rubber smell is really strong. The box is extremely heavy, and once you open it you have 250' of hose in a box to deal with. Best bet is to take it outside where you can give yourself enough room and ventilation to work on putting on the couplings and hose ends. Otherwise it's like having a 250’ 5/8 inch boa constrictor in your house with a strong rubber smell. You'll have hose everywhere like I did lol. Good luck, and you will enjoy the quality of this hose, and Glimour stands by their product. It's the last hose you'll ever have to buy unless you want another one like me.

good & plenty

I like the quality of this hose. It's hard to kink, and feels nice & sturdy. And for my purpose it's nice to have the great big length.I put fittings on it -- the Gilmour Green Thumb ones I reviewed somewhere -- and it's all working well.Also, now that I got this, I see that it's the exact same type as one other hose I got 5 or 6 years ago. ( I have a lot of hose around here. ) And that one I left outside for several years, year-round. It's still doing fine, just a little mold or something on it. It was sort of buried under tall dead grass for a few years. Still works great.
