i was looking for easy to use, inexpensive tig welder after taking a class to use for hobby work. So far it is working great, easy to use, no problems encountered. Can't say much about the weld quality, but that is the operator, not the equipment. When i actually do it right, the welds look very nice. i haven't tried aluminum yet, I've just been working on a welding table from mild steel. Then I'll start on some 4130 chromoly & Aluminum practice.Recommended if you want an easy to use, inexpensive machine.

Got this machine this week, welding steel is an absolute dream. I also have a Hobart Handler 210 with the spool gun for aluminum but wanted to get away from the spatter and have nice clean welds. Aluminum so far has been a challenge. After a few days of practice and getting a different tungsten for the gun and smaller filler rod it has gotten better. After watching a few videos and reading some online forums I'm learning how to weld aluminum much better and I think this machine will be everything I was hoping it would be. Nice machine, but I wish the leads were detachable. Overall, love it!

This does everything I need, and it's a joy to operate. The controls make setup a breeze. It's also a very light unit, at least compared to my Hobart Handle 187, which weighs a ton. The actual TIG welding isn't easy, but this is true of any unit.The only downside is that it only comes with a 3/32" collet and collet body. If you're using 1/16", 0.040", or 0.20" electrodes, you'll need to order these separately. But they're inexpensive.
