Just about perfect

This is a powerful quiet unit that lives up to it's reputation and it's pricetag.While it is almost twice the width of the 77 it replaced (less room under the sink now) it's cavity is actually smaller. I guess all that sound proofing is bulky. The biggest complaint is that in this expensive and complete product (it even ships with a discharge tube extension) there is no romex cable restraint for the 3/8 inch hole unless you buy the optional plug. If you were planning on reusing the plug from the disposal you are replacing, or hardwiring it, you will need to take a trip to an electrical supplier. Why why they changed the old simple restraint design is beyond me, and why having made the change they don't ship the 35 cent piece with the unit is pretty darned annoying.

Great product

We had the disposal installed about 3 weeks ago and it is fantastic. Very quiet (at times I forget it on) and I love the fact that you turn it on and off with the cover thus no switches on the wall or counter. However you do need to be sure the cover is not engaged and disposal left on when you leave the sink.The only issue I have is the way it was packaged when it was delivered. In fact the box was not packaged for shipping. The delivery label was placed directly on the box that the disposal was packaged in. THe problem I have with this is that if the box is accidentally dropped which mine was, the product would have been better protected. Luckily the corner that was smashed had some styrofoam that protected the disposal (the styrofoam was cracked at the impact site). The disposal was inspected and no obvious exterior signs of damage was detected. So far the disposal is operating without problems.Overall, it is a great problem and I would recommend it. I found Amazon to have the best price for this product.

I thought I was crazy to spend $369 for a garbage disposal, but it came highly recommended and I went for the stainless steel version. The installation was a snap, although the inSinkerator itself contained everything I needed and made accessory purchases unnecessary. I did get the air switch, and it looks and works fine. The disposal is extremely quiet and I thank a retired plumber friend for his recommendation.
